The Problems

  • Obscured runway and taxiway markings due to poor weather, snow coverage or nightime conditions
  • Unlit remote runways

The Solution

Runway Edge Marking

Greatland Laser's airport lighting concept offers the advantage of enhanced visibility in poor weather or nightime conditions and because the light is projected on the surface of the ground, it will not be obscured by snowfall.

One of the primary characteristics of Greatland Laser's airport lighting technology is the ability of the coherent laser light to lluminate particles suspended in the atmosphere. In essence, the laser light illuminates every particle of rain, fog, snow, or smoke in its path creating a wall of light which is far more visible than traditional low visibility lighting aids.

Marine Lighting

The photos show the laser enhancement of important marine navigation aids. This technology can be used for marking channels, harbor entrances, bridge approaches, hazards and restricted areas for homeland security. It is now possible with the Greatland laser technology to literally draw lines of light on the surface of the water. The observer approaching the illumination perceives a solid line of light in the correct corresponding color making it easy to stay inside a safety corridor through an unfamiliar area.

Industrial Lighting

The ability to illuminate lines of light on any surface has many industrial applications. Marking restricted areas, emergency evacuation routes, cross walks, intersections, toll plaza lanes, truck docks, bridge centerlines, tunnel markings, etc.
